Agriculture is the major contributor to the Nepalese GDP. Agriculture in Nepal accounts for 34% of the country’s GDP. Approximately 68% of the country’s population is involved in agriculture. The government of Nepal has formed specific bureaucratic bodies for research and extension in agriculture. The Agriculture Knowledge Centre (AKCs) are one of them at the province level.
